Railway Connection

Yeah hai jis ki wajah say TTP ko yani India ko Pakistan mai Shariyat kay nafaaz ki pari howi hai aur baluchistan mai BLA ko seperation chahyeh :D

The Kashghar-Gwadar Economic Corridor - Khunjerab Railway

A consortium of two-leading Chinese construction companies, CREC and Sinotec, have offered to construct the strategic Khunjrab Rail Link at an estimated cost of Rs250 billion. The offer was made by a representative of the consortium, Mr. Song Shuan Ping who gave a comprehensive presentation before Federal Minister of Railways , Khawaja Saad Rafique last month.

The main aim of the link is to connect Pakistan Railways at Havelian Station to Hotan Station on the Lanzhou−Xinjiang Railway in China. Once complete, a link to Gwadar will begin eventually connecting Kashgar to Gwadar.

China is going to be the beneficiary of Gwadar's most accessible international trade routes to the Central Asian republics and Xinjiang. By extending its East-West Railway from the Chinese border city of Kashi to Peshawar, Beijing can receive cargo to and from Gwadar along the shortest route, from Karachi to Peshawar. The rail network could also be used to supply oil from the Persian Gulf to Xinjiang. Pakistan's internal rail network can also provide China with rail access to Iran. For Pakistan, this will automatically mean more trade with China, increased trade with Central Asia and most importantly, more development in underdeveloped regions of Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan where the rail links will be passing through.

The railway linking Kashi and Hotan in Xinjiang opened on 30 December 2010 for cargo transportation, and passenger transport commenced on 28 June 2011. The remaining portion now left remains between Havelian and Hotan.
