Lubricant supply: Shell Pakistan, Daewoo Express sign agreement

LAHORE: Shell Pakistan has signed a contract with Daewoo Express for lubricant supply to the Daewoo fleet in the country, also pledging a partnership for social investment and safety programmes.

This marks the first time when an oil company, which has a 15% share in the white oil market in Pakistan, has entered into an agreement with a passenger transport company that connects 46 cities via their network and fleet of 225 buses.

“We need long-term partnerships, not only in lubricants but also in other segments of our business,” said Daewoo Express Chief Executive Officer Shehreyar Chishti. “Our company proves that running a transport company is an efficient business, all you need is a little management, skill and vision.”

Shell Pakistan Managing Director Omar Sheikh lauded the development between the companies.

“We are pleased to be a partner with Daewoo Express, using lubricants for their fleet,” Sheikh said.

“We are also collaborating for corporate social responsibility programmes under which the Daewoo drivers would be provided training on safety. Free education will also be provided to the children of the bus service employees,” he added.
