On the 18th February, Leo Messi and Sergio Agüero will face each other on the field of play with a conflict of interest. One will be playing for Barça, the other for Manchester City. The ex-Atlético de Madrid player has spoken highly of his friend and fellow Argentinian in an interview with ESPN Rivadavia.
"Messi is from another planet, and he will always be the best player in the world. I think he will win the Ballon d'Or. Cristiano Ronaldo has done some great things too, but the best one is always Messi even if he only scores one goal a year", he said.
Agüero keeps in touch with Messi. "We spoke at the New Year and we said that whichever one of us doesn't get through in the Champions League will be hungrier when it is time for the World Cup Finals. We talked about the match, but didn't bet anything. We both hope it will be a good game, and if City wins, then so much the better," he said.
Agüero went on to say that "Messi has done very well to rest up and recover properly. As long as we are mentally all right, then we don't think about injuries".
For the Manchester City player, the game against Barcelona will be a great one. "Barcelona is the best team in the world and it is going to be hard. We are fine and we have a good squad. It is going to be a very even game". And he is quite convinced that "in the first (home) leg we will have to get a good result. Games have to be played out, and it will certainly be difficult".
Agüero is now very much better after injury, and he is hoping to play again as soon as possible
