‘Ramadan 2013’, ‘Earthquake Dubai’ and ‘Justin Bieber’ are just some of the events, incidents and names that we’ve been ‘Googling’ in 2013, according to the search engine giant’s year-end Zeitgeist.
Google’s annual list, which looks at the year through the collective eyes of the world on the web, reveals 2013’s biggest events, hottest trends and most ‘Googled’ people based on searches conducted in the UAE.
According to the company, this year’s trending searches for queries and people reveal growing interest in technology brands and viral phenomenon on the web.
The trending lists for the UAE highlight a dominating interest in annual events, such as Ramadan, Eid and Diwali and their derivatives. The majority of trending individuals for the UAE for 2013 were global personas from across the world, with regional and local personalities making the top ten.
