First, he created an Iron Man gauntlet, then a laser Gatling gun, and now he's unveiled his latest project, ahomemade laser rifle that cuts through anything from glass to pork.
Laser hobbyist Patrick Priebe has come up with many custom laser products that are usually not for sale. The latest 800mm-long laser rifle prototype weighs 5.4kg and runs at 12,000 volts. It has to be kept cool by water.
The rifle doesn't only work at close range -- Gizmag reported it works best at a distance of about 4 meters from its target. A red aiming pointer accompanies the laser rifle for accuracy and safety, alongside a built-in temperature sensor that indicates when the temperature is too high to continue shooting.
As seen in the video, the laser rifle is able to easily burn a hole through different objects with an invisible beam, although it seems to be most effective with paper (or 'Sample Text', as shown in the video). When operated, this laser emits a high-pitched noise.
Priebe has no plans to sell his latest creation. But you can keep a lookout on his YouTube page for updates.
