Will Samsung be competing with the Google Glass?
Seeing as how the Glass has been having its fair amount of hype, it may come as no surprise to many to find Samsung following its drift.
On Monday, the Korea Times stated that Samsung will be producing a set of smart glasses that will likely stand as competition to the Google Glass.
Samsung will most probably reveal them at this year’s IFA, which will take place over a period of six days, starting on the 5th of September.
According to the Korea Times, the glasses will not work with all smartphones; namely just Samsung’s devices. If they do sync with one another, the data to be displayed will consist of useful features such as viewing information on music that’s being played and seeing incoming phone calls, as well.
So far, the new gadget is reported to being produced solely from home, meaning Samsung Electronics will derive the displays from Samsung Display.
In Q4 of last year, the Wall Street Journal reported that Samsung was looking into the production of smart glasses as shown by patent documents
