Captain America 3 To Challenge Batman V/S Superman

The Batman V/S Superman movie is set to clash at the Box Office with Captain America 3, as they are expected to release on the same weekend and that is May 06, 2016.

That’s the plan, anyway, creating the biggest superhero Box Office showdown in history. However, the shooting schedules and post-production could always impact the current blueprint.

The Batman V/S Superman stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill once again asSuperman. It was originally supposed to hit theaters in the summer of 2015, but its release was pushed back nearly a year. There’s no doubt that Warner Brothers is hoping to replicate the blockbuster.

When promoting the upcoming sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studiospresident Kevin Feige stated that he had no plans to move the release of Captain America 3 off the May 06, 2015 date.

He still wouldn’t reveal the identity of the film; however, insiders confirm it will indeed be Captain America 3. The world premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier was on March 13, 2014 in Hollywood.

Warner Brothers may have been waiting to see what the Marvel Studios title was before considering a date change for The Batman V/S Superman, if the studio blinks. There are still weekends available that summer, including the first two after Captain America 3 and The Batman V/S Superman are set to open. Zack Snyder begins shooting The Batman V/S Superman in the coming weeks.

Marvel Studios and Disney are incredibly high on Captain America 2, which opens in North America on April 04, 2104 and is garnering huge interest, according to pre-release tracking.

They believe Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Chris Evans returning in the title role, will benefit from the same halo effect from The Avengers That Iron Man 3 and sequel Thor: The Dark World enjoyed, as well as firmly establishing Captain America: The Winter Soldier as a standalone franchise

Brothers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo who directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier are in talks to return for Captain America 3.

Disney Channel Set To Roll Out Its First UK Production

The Disney Channel has announced that a multi-part movie titled Evermoor, a mystery adventure film, is to be filmed in UK.

Lime Pictures is producing Evermoor along with Disney‘s EMEA Studio, Tim Compton andDiane Whitley have created Evermoor and Bede Blake will pen the script.

Casting has yet to be finalised, although Hodgson said producers were open as to whether the actress playing the heroine is from the UK or the US.

The project has been described as a multi part movie, but Rebecca Hodgson, Head Drama,Lime Pictures stated that Evermoor could either be screened as a single film, or as a four half hour series. Rebecca feels that Evermoor has both British and American sensibilities, although there had been a dialogue polish to make sure to get certain words right.

Evermoor will be shot in England, at Arley Hall, near Warrington and is to become the first long-form UK Series to air on the Disney Channel in the US.

Evermoor is a mystery adventure and the story revolves around a fourteen year old American teenager Tara Bailey, who moves to Evermoor Manor in middle England with her mother, stepfather and siblings. Tara Bailey and her stepbrother have to stay united to overcome a mystery that threatens the very existence of Evermoor Manor.

Evermoor is due to air this autumn and will be the first UK Disney Production to be shown on theDisney Channel in more than 160 counties.

The Disney Channel‘s David Levine said: “Evermoor is a hugely exciting project for the team with a gripping story that I’m sure will captivate our global Disney Channel audience.”

Previous Disney Channel original movies include The High School Musical franchise and Camp Rock, which was spun off into a successful feature film.

Not only this, Disney Channel films have a good track record of becoming worldwide hits and creating stars such as Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Demi Lovato.

Divergent A Very Special Film For Kate Winslet

Divergent is a very special film for Kate Winslet as she shot the film when she was pregnant with her third child. Not only did she shoot for the film she even did her own stunts in the film.

“It’s pretty funny because she was pregnant when we were shooting, but she wanted to do her own stunt falls. Kate Winslet did a couple. She’s you know, very careful about it, and then finally Neil Burger was like, okay I’m too nervous – you can’t do this anymore.” stated Divergent authorVeronica Roth.

Kate Winslet was very persistent about her role in Divergent, even though she knew that she as pregnant. “We had to refit all of her wardrobe, but then there is a scene where she fights Shailene and she was like, I wanna do it and I said stop it you are pregnant. But she still wanted to do the action sequences. Kate Winslet is a committed actress and she’s a committed mother, too. But she is just completely there, and you kind of just have to stop her.” informed Neil Burger the director of the film.

Divergent is an upcoming American science fiction action film directed by Neil Burger and is based on the novel of the same name by Veronica Roth.

Kate Winslet has roughly twenty minutes of screen time in Divergent and she is very happy with the length of her role as well as her character. “I was five months pregnant when we did the movie. In actual fact, I found it quite frustrating that I couldn’t be even more in the film as I was pregnant. I was very fortunate, though, that we did re-shoot one of a key action scene just four weeks ago. I was thrilled because my baby was on the outside of my body.” stated an extremely ecstatic and thrilled Kate.

Awards season in Hollywood is just about hotting up, with the Oscars having concluded last week. Close on the heels of the most prestigious awards show on the planet, comes another American film and TV award shows, the MTV Movie Awards being one of them.

Walt Disney Ties Up With Shanghai Media Group To Make Inroads Into Chinese Market

American movie-making studio Walt Disney is gearing up to expand its presence in the Chinese market, with a freshly inked deal that has just been signed between it and the Shanghai Media Group Pictures. Disney-branded movies under the collaboration will incorporate Chinese themes into Disney films, said the Studio in a new statement.

In a move to enhance training opportunities between the two superpower nations, the deal will see U.S.-based writers and filmmakers teaming up with their Chinese counterparts, to develop new stories in Disney films.

The move seemingly comes on the back of the deals made by Hollywood’s famed production companies, like Viacom Inc’s Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks Animation SKG tying up with Chinese actors and directors, and setting up co-productions with local firms.

As per the report, Tony To, Executive Vice President Production, will oversee the multi-year development program. Sources indicate the move will aim to boost the ease of release of English films in the Asian nation.

Currently, China’s censorship norms are among the most stringent in the world, with a 37-member Film Censorship Committee vetting every film released in China on the parameters of nudity, violence and anything that is deemed “politically sensitive”.

So far, Disney has made some inroads in the Chinese market, when Disney was made the founding partner of a National Chinese Animation Creative R&D project in 2012. The collaboration was aimed at providing stimulus to the Chinese animation industry, and to train local talent.

Then in December 2013, came the news of Walt Disney Co and BesTV New Media signing on the dotted line of a joint venture, to use the technical and marketing expertise of both companies, for the development of the entertainment industry.

In 2013, Hollywood made giant strides into China, releasing Disney’s superhero flick Iron Man 3, which featured a leading Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, and a chunk of the film shot in China, which somehow seemed to win over local censors.

Interestingly, China’s entertainment and media market was pegged at around $120 billion last year, and is expected to swell to $148 billion by 2015, according to Pricewater House Coopers outlook for the Global Entertainment and media business 2011-2015.

Shahid Kapoor, who has just wrapped up Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider, has given his nod to Vikas Bahl’s film and Alia Bhatt, who is currently busy the shooting of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, is also very much on board.

Picking Kangana Ranaut for Queen was a wise decision, considering the manner in which she portrayed the character. The way Kangana pulled the film on her shoulders also exhibits the mind of the director, Vikas Bahl.

Vikas’s next, Shaandar would for the first film see Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt together and most definitely an onscreen pair to look out for.

Punjab plans to complete six plants of 7,820MW by 2018: CM

ISLAMABAD  - Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that Punjab government has planned to complete its six power plants by 2018 that would generate 7820 megawatts of electricity, which would fill the gap between demand and supply. 
He said this while chairing a meeting along with Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar to review logistics requirements for imported coal transportation to proposed power plants in Punjab at Prime Minister’s House. Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique informed that the Pakistan Railways has made initial study for route map in order to transport imported coal to six coal-fired power plants to be set up in Punjab. He informed that necessary work for double line up to Lahore is already in progress.
He said that procurement of high traction locomotives and high capacity wagons would be required to meet the expected demand of transporting 36 million tons of coal per annum by year 2018 when all the coal fired power plants would be operational. The Ministry of Port and Shipping informed that capacity development at Port Qasim and Karachi Port Trust will have to be undertaken for loading/unloading arrangements at terminals. The meeting was informed that the private sector can be involved to enhance the capacity at the two ports. Secretary Water and Power informed that the sites of the proposed power plants in Punjab already have the necessary infrastructure of transmission lines and capacity to meet the requirements. However, he said that wherever required additional transmission lines will be set up on joint venture basis.
The finance minister in his remarks said that instead of separate feasibility reports by each of the three ministries, it would be appropriate that an integrated feasibility plan in collaboration with IPDF (Infrastructure Project Development Facility) of the Finance Division, should be prepared in order to ensure that minimum extra logistic arrangements are required. He said that wherever it is possible, public private partnership or joint ventures with the private sector should be explored. He underlined that the sites should be selected keeping in view the availability of dual railway track, transmission lines and related infrastructure.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the environmental impact assessment should be made at the earliest. He informed the meeting that globally it is considered that 660MW power plants are more efficient. He also informed that the Punjab government plans to complete two power plants by 2017 and remaining four by year 2018. He said that two pair each at six sites would produce 7820MW of electricity which will fill the gap between demand and supply even in summer.  He said, “For the industrial development of the country, we need to shift to cheaper fuel and more efficient power plants.” Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Port and Shipping Kamran Michael, Finance Secretary Dr Waqar Masood, Federal Secretary Water and Power, Saifullah Chatta and senior officials of the federal and provincial governments also attended the meeting
