Kim Jong-un made starving dogs eat naked uncle alive in cage: Report

Seoul: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's uncle Jang Song Thaek was stripped naked and thrown into a cage to be executed by dogs. Unlike previous executions of political prisoners, which were carried out by firing squads with machine guns, Jang was thrown into a cage, along with his five closest aides.
According to the Straits Times, Jang and his supporters were starved for three days, and then dogs were allowed to prey on them until they were completely eaten up. This is called 'quan jue', or execution by dogs. The report said the entire process lasted for an hour, with Kim Jong Un supervising it along with 300 senior officials, the report added.

Kim Jong-un was 'very drunk' when he ordered the execution. According to the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, the execution was carried out after Jang’s aides questioned an order from the dictator to hand over control of a business to the military. Sources told the newspaper Kim was 'upset' when they said they needed to check with 'Director Jang' first.

Kim's uncle was head of the ruling Workers' Party administrative department. His close aides, first deputy director Ri Ryong-ha and another deputy Jang Su-gil, were among the first prominent figures to be executed in late November. According the Yomiuri's source, Kim was 'very drunk' when he ordered they be killed.
After the execution, North's official KCNA news agency said: "The accused Jang brought together undesirable forces and formed a faction as the boss of a modern day factional group for a long time and thus committed such hideous crime as attempting to overthrow the state."
Jang was stripped of all posts and was expelled from the ruling Workers' Party, accusing him of criminal acts including mismanagement of the state financial system, womanising and alcohol abuse.
"From long ago, Jang had a dirty political ambition. He dared not raise his head when Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il were alive," KCNA said, referring to leader Kim's grandfather and father, who were previous rulers of the dynastic state.
"He began revealing his true colors, thinking that it was just the time for him to realize his wild ambition in the period of historic turn when the generation of the revolution was replaced," it added.
The execution caps a spectacular downfall of the husband of leader Kim's aunt. Jang had previously suffered purges but fought his way back to the power circle to hold influential positions in the ruling party and the military.

Martinez rejects talk of £50m Manchester United move for Barkley

Martinez rejects talk of £50m Manchester United move for Barkley
The Toffees will not entertain any offers for the 20-year-old midfielder, who has earned a regular starting berth this season and has been linked with a move to Old Trafford
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has cheekily rejected claims that Manchester United would be able to sign promising Toffees midfielder Ross Barkley for £50 million.

Reports have linked David Moyes, the former Everton manager now in charge at Old Trafford, with a January swoop for Barkley, who is expected to earn a place in England's World Cup squad following his fine performances this season.

But Martinez, who has guided his side to fourth place in the Premier League, says £50 million would not even be enough to secure a temporary deal.

"£50million? We wouldn't let anyone out on loan in January," he quipped to reporters.

The former Wigan boss also believes that on-loan Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu will return to the line-up all the better for his recent hamstring injury.
"I feel he will be back as a re-energised player," he continued. "What an injury gives you in a negative sense, that frustration, it can also help him to finish the season really strong.
"We know the final eight games of the season are going to be vital. Gerard has done so well for a 19-year-old to fight his way through and become so important for the side. I always expected him to start to have an impact in February so actually he’s been two months ahead of what I expected.
"So for him to have a set-back now is going to allow him to come back refreshed for that final third. That’s a real positive.

Moyes uncertain of Rooney's Manchester United future

Moyes uncertain of Rooney's Manchester United future
The manager is uncertain if the striker would commit his future to the club if they missed out on Champions League football but feels he is is happy at Old Trafford
Manchester United manager David Moyes has admitted that striker Wayne Rooney may not sign a new contract if the champions miss out on a top-four finish.

The Red Devils currently languish in seventh place in the Premier League, five points behind Liverpool in fourth and 11 points off top-of-the-table Arsenal.

Rooney’s current deal expires at the end of next season and, as exclusively revealed by
Goal in December, the striker has rejected United’s latest attempts to open talks over a new contract.

When asked how confident Moyes was of Rooney signing a new deal if United missed out on the top four he told reporters: "Well, we would have to wait and see what [would] happen if that situation arose."

The former Everton man has, however, been in top form for the reigning champions this season, scoring 11 times, and his manager feels he is happy at Old Trafford.

"I thought if you looked at his performances you'd have to say he's certainly playing at his best," he added.

United are in FA Cup action on Sunday, a game Rooney is expected to miss through injury, although Moyes is confident he could return in midweek for the Capital One clash with Sunderland.

"He's got a groin injury and won't be available for the game," he said before adding he "had a chance" of facing the Black Cats.

United face Swansea at Old Trafford having lost six times already at Old Trafford this season but Moyes has urged his side to improve and insists the FA Cup is important to the club.

"To have not won the FA Cup for 10 years is something which is a bit of a surprise but it's something which we'll try and do," Moyes said.

"We're trying to win all the competitions we enter which we're sure most people are trying to do but as far as I'm concerned we'll do everything we possibly can.

"The cup is important to me, it always has been but I'm sure it's important to every club

Barcelona planning to bring in Man United striker in January !!

Barcelona planning to bring in Man United striker in January !!
Manchester United striker Robin van Persie finds himself on the front of Catalan daily Sport today as rumours continue to swirl about his future.

There have been plenty of suggestions recently that van Persie is unhappy at Old Trafford under new Manchester United boss David Moyes and this is played up by Sport.

BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson even went so far as to suggest that Robin van Persie had handed in a transfer request, which was rubbished by David Moyes after Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle.

Sport report that Barcelona are looking to bring in a striker in January, to support the likes of Lionel Messi, Pedro, Alexis Sanchez and Neymar.

Barcelona are keen to bring in a natural hitman and if they receive any hint RVP is keen to leave will make their move in the coming weeks.

The Catalan paper build up van Persie as Tata Martino’s Henrik Larsson – an older striker who could be a crucial member of the Barcelona squad – as the Swedish striker was between 2004 to 2006.

It would be a major surprise if Robin van Persie were to leave Manchester United – surely David Moyes is not in a position to let his star striker depart!

Manchester United favourites to land £35m Barcelona target

Manchester United are favourites to sign Juventus playmaker Arturo Vidal before February 1st.

SkyBet have made the Red Devils as short as 5/2 to bring the Chilean international to the Premier League this month, amidst reports in the national press that the champions were lining-up a move for the £35million-rated midfielder.

Vidal has impressed in Serie 'A' since moving from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011, helping the Bianconeri to the title last season.

It's led to speculation over a move away from the club though, with Spanish giants Barcelona reported to be an interested party.

The La Liga champions aren't short of options in attacking midfield, with manager Gerardo Martino rotating his stars on a regular basis at the Nou Camp.

Bookmakers don't believe Vidal will be joining Barca though, with 20/1 the quoted price for the player to end the first month of 2014 in Catalonia. Chelsea are second favourites at 8/1, with Bayern Munich next on the list at 16/1.

That means Manchester United are clearly out in-front, according to SkyBet at least, and Vidal's arrival would be a major coup for manager David Moyes.

The Scot has struggled to make his mark at Old Trafford after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson, missing out on some big transfer targets in the summer before a disappointing first half of the season.

Vidal could be the spark that Manchester United to re-ignite their top four chances this season, but it remains to be seen if they can agree a deal with the Old Lady in Italy.
